Spring is officially here! And while you’re packing away your sweaters and bringing out warmer weather gear, you should also phase out your winter beauty and introduce a new spring look. But that doesn’t mean replacing your entire makeup collection. Here’s how to easily transition your look to feel more spring-y:
Toss the heavy foundation that most of us use in the winter and let your skin breathe in the spring. Replace it with lighter coverage, such as a tinted moisturizer. For a dewy glow, we love Luminizing Moisture Tint by Jouer. Got oily skin? Try their Matte Moisture Tint.
Replace powder blush with cream. Powder can look cakey, while a stain or cream blush can give cheeks a gorgeous glow that looks natural—like you've been sitting outside, drinking pink lemonade all day. Our picks: Beach Tint by Becca, which also doubles as a great sheer wash of color for your lips, and Convertible Color Cream Blush by Stila. Both lines offer gorgeous pinks and corals for summer.
Even though spring is here and the weather is balmy, frosty makeup is gorgeous year round. While many women turn to white shadow in order to get a sexy ice queen look, we prefer a pale seafoam green or silver blue. Using white has a tendency to date you, while using colors make it feel fresh. Keep the frosty shades from looking clownish by adding liner to the inside of your waterline and smudging it out to give a more dramatic effect. Indigo by Stila is a great blue. For a soft green, apply Kitten by Stila over Julie Hewett eyeshadow in Swept Away. Just remember to place shadow under your lower lash line as well to get the full effect, and keep your lips and cheeks clean and simple!
There was so much beautiful makeup on the runways for Spring 2014. We've analyzed all the backstage beauty & runway pics and selected our very favorite beauty trends for the season. A word to the wise: Try them all—but not all at once!
Bright, orange lips: We absolutely love this for spring. Models at Rag & Bone, Creatures of the Wild, Prabal Gurung, and more donned bold tangerine kissers. To get a similar look, try one of our fave orange lippies: Hydrating Lipstick by Jouer in Grace or Belle Noir Lipstick by Julie Hewett.
Sleepy, sexy hair and makeup: Pamella Roland made her models look like they just fell out of bed in 1960s Paris—and we love it! We're captivated by the teased side pony and smudgy eyes and a pop of pink on the pout. To get the look, use Eye Shadow Trio in Gold Glow by Stila (the beautiful bronze color in the middle is perfect!), Citrine shadow by Stila and Smudgestick Eyeliner in Lionfish by Stila. Smooth on Moisturizing Lip Gloss by Jouer in Starfish to finish. For hair, use Sultra The Bombshell Cone Rod curling iron to get loose, slept-in waves. Finish with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray and Unite Expanda Dust to get loads of volume and texture. After back-combing the hair at the back of your head, pin your hair into a loose pony.
Bubble gum pink lips: Candy coated lips were everywhere on the runway and they were gorgeous! Hydrating Lipstick in Kate by Jouer is the absolute best color for this trend. It is the softest pink that looks like it came straight from the 60's. Top it off with Moisturizing Lipgloss in Peony by Jouer.
Blue eyes: Whether it's an eyeliner or eye shadow, we are obsessed with blue for spring! At Marc by Marc Jacobs, models eyelids were rich, solid blue from lash line to crease. To try the look, we suggest Julie Hewett eye shadow in Hitchcock or Jewel Eye Shadow in Blue Sapphire by Stila. Use a Smudge Stick eyeliner in Cobalt by Stila to finish the look.
As always, you can make an appointment and we can do these looks for you! Or just pop in and pick up one of these pretty lippies to freshen up your beauty routine for spring!
Want luscious, full lips sans injections? All you need is the right makeup and you’ll get a sensuous pout in no time.
The secret weapon: our all time favorite lip pencil, Becca Nude Lip Liner in Nougat. It honestly is like lip injection but in pencil form. One side is skin-toned and the other side is a perfect nude color.
First, line your lips with the skin-toned side and draw two lines from your cupid’s bow to your nostrils. The ivory helps camouflage where your natural lip begins and gives an amplifying effect. Then trace over it with the nude pink side of the pencil. Your lips will appear bigger instantaneously. The line you drew from cupids bow to nostrils gives appearance of lifting the lip and making it fuller.
For lip color, opt for a nude gloss or lipstick. Our faves are Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Starfish and Julie Hewett Bijou Lipstick in Biba. Both are gorgeous neutral colors and will make your lips look sexy and full!
During the winter, everyone can start to look a little pale. But there’s no reason to go around looking pasty and peaked! Here are three ways to overcome a dull and faded complexion:
Get your glow (gradually) on. Not that into self-tanners? No worries. Opt for a body lotion with a hint of a glow or a gradual tan moisturizer. Our pick is Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion. You can pick from several shades from light to deep dark. No matter what color you choose, you’ll get a streak-free look and a subtle glow.
Behold the bronzer. One of our fave bronzers is Mineral Powder Bronzer by Jouer in Suntan. Dust a bronzer around your forehead, up onto your cheeks, and under the cheekbone. This will give a subtle bronze to your skin without looking muddy. Tip: Choose a bronzer color that is more brown than orange.
Blush up. Another reason women tend to look pale in the winter is because they don't have enough color in their cheeks. In the winter, go for a pink/rosy blush that will look like a natural flush. When applying, keep the blush to the apples of your cheeks where you would ordinarily blush.
Spring 2014 is sure to be chock full of beauty trends. One that’s emerged that we can’t get enough of—the matchy matchy trend. Here are some ways to try out:
Nails and lipstick: Pick a polish to match your lip color! This is very trendy and looks cool but not overdone or flashy. Our fave is a deep berry lip (such as Blood Roses lipstick by Kevyn Aucoin Beauty) with matching berry nails. Be sure to keep your skin flawless and your eyes simple with winged liner and lots of mascara.
Cheeks and lips: The key to matching your cheeks to your lips is using the same product on both places. We like to blend Jouer Tint in Peony into our cheeks and then add it to the lips. To get more color, top it off with Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Peony. Complement the look with a soft bronze eye (using Jouer Powder Eyeshadows in Maple and Pecan) and then smudge Lionfish Smudge Stick by Stila in your lash line.
Eyes and lips: Matching your pout to your peepers is for the daring woman! We prefer a using a peach shade, using Jouer Mineral Powder Blush in Peach Bouquet on the eyes as a shadow. Blend it under the lower lash line as well and top with loads of mascara, such as The Essential Mascara by Kevyn Aucoin Beauty in Black. Next take Peach Bouquet and add it to your lips. (Yes, you read that right!) It will look like a stain, but then top with Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Tender. Wanna go bolder? Try Stila eye shadow in Mahogany on your eyes and Ultimate Colour Gloss by Becca in Berry Twist on your lips!
Stick with the basics—and you can look like you’re not too done up but still beautiful and bright eyed!
1) Apply a tinted moisturizer, such as Luminizing Moisture Tint by Jouer. It will even out your complexion and give your skin a natural glow without looking like you have on makeup.
2) Dab some color on your cheeks. We love Beach Tint by Becca in Lychee—it’s a stain so it will withhold a long day of shopping.
3) Curl your lashes. It will open up your eyes. Then, top them with Everyday Effortless Mascara by Jouer in Brown (hold the black since its daytime and you want to look as natural as possible).
4 )Fill in your brows with Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color by Stila. It’s very subtle and perfect for natural but defined brows.
5) Give your lips a hint of color—but more importantly, keep them hydrated during the cold winter! Camellia Balm by Julie Hewett in either Rosé or Ruby will give lips a radiant glow while keeping them moisturized.

Whether you’re heading to a party, having a romantic dinner, or hitting the dance floor for New Year’s Eve, you’ll want your makeup to look gorgeous and glamourous. Want a professional look at home? Here’s how to DIYour Life of the Party look:
•Apply a no-budge foundation, such as Stay All Day Foundation by Stila. The line also makes complementing concealer shades which is great to cover up any under-eye darkness, blemishes, or other imperfections.
• Using a powder brush, dust pressed powder over your entire face to set your makeup. We like Mineral Face Powder by Jouer.
• For eyes, apply a white gold glitter shadow to your lids. We love the luxe look of Glam Eye Powder in White Gold by Girlactik. Then use the Stila’s Smudge Pot in Black to apply cat-eye liner to your upper lids. Finish with two coats of your favorite mascara.
• Blend in a bit of Tint by Jouer in Dahlia on your cheeks. Add a dab to your lips to finish your look.
Want a sculpted, defined cheek a la sexy Victoria Secret model? Even if you weren’t born with defined cheek bones, you can effortlessly contour your face using bronzer. When choosing your bronzer, make sure it's only a few shades darker than your natural skin tone, similar to the color your skin turns when you tan. This prevents a harsh line of demarkation and creates a sun kissed look. Also avoid ones that are too reddish or shimmery. We love Becca Mineral Bronzing Powder in Duende.
Starting at the half-way point of your face near the center of your ears, sketch a straight line with the bronzer using an angled brush, stopping mid-cheek. Then, add a pop of color to the apples of your cheek with some cream blush. Smile and apply the blush right on the rounds of your face. Then blend in a little more bronzer. Voila! Beautiful, defined, holiday-ready cheek bones!

The holiday season is in full swing! It's time to start planning your holiday party looks. We're all for a little glitz and glimmer but we also love deep, rich colors that evoke the warmth of the winter holidays. Here’s how to get glam this holiday season:
For lips: Substitute your current lipcolor with a deep, matte currant or berry shade. We are absolutely in love with Blood Roses, a new shade from Kevyn Aucoin.
For eyes: Put your softer, matte eye shadow hues aside for the season. Go for deep chocolate brown, emerald green, and smokey quartz. Use shadow with a bit of shimmer—perfect for the holiday festivities! We love these: Coco mixed with Java from Stila. For an emerald green use Swept Away by Julie Hewett. For a smokey quartz look use Romanticism eye tint from Becca.
For cheeks: Add a pop of holiday cheer on your cheeks! Just like lips are going deeper for the holidays, blush also gets seasonal with shades such as aubergine, berry, and even red. Try Creamy Glow by Kevyn Aucoin in Patrice.
